wxsAMP is a remote control protocol for WINAMP. wxsAMP-FE is a client piece for the wxsAMP protocol. I wrote the client piece to match the specification given by wxs. Basically this little GTK application allows you to remotely control your WINAMP instance. It gives you the ability to load songs and playlists, jump forward and backward, play, stop, next, previous, shuffle, etc. This has been tested and compiles fine under RedHat Linux 8.
